It’s been widely reported and speculated that a 5-door Suzuki Jimny is in the works, however, no confirmation as to when (and if) the model will actually make a debut, until now.
5-door Suzuki Jimny to debut at Delhi Auto Expo in Jan 2023?
According to a report by gaadiwaadi.com, the 5-door version of the beloved mini-offroader is expected to make its global debut on January 12, 2023, during the Delhi Auto Expo.
The 5-door Suzuki Jimny is set to measure 3,850 mm in length, and 1,645 mm in width and stands at 1,730 mm in height with a wheelbase length of 2,550 mm. In India, the familiar 1.5-liter four-cylinder K15C petrol engine with smart hybrid technology could be utilized, it produces 103 PS and 137 Nm of torque. Transmission options could either be a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.
As for the looks, it would most likely just have slight differences to the 3-door version, what is interesting is that the report states the 5-door is expected to have a slightly more premium interior compared to the smaller version.
If this report proves to be true, it could be significant the world over and particularly for the Philippines because India supplies Suzuki Philippines with the Jimny. So in theory, if India gets it first, we could also get it soon after, fingers crossed.
