Huge PHP 4.00 fuel price hike for diesel, PHP 0.50 for gas tomorrow, August 8, 2023

The fuel price hikes continue! The past month has seen nothing but increases in pump prices and tomorrow will be no different. While gasoline will go up a minimal PHP 0.50, it’s going to be the drastic opposite for diesel as it’s set to go up by a horrendous PHP 4.00 per liter. Not so good news to start the week, sadly.

4 weeks of fuel price hikes, and diesel vehicle owners will definitely feel this one

Confirmation from different brands is starting to come in, and we can definitely expect that fuel prices tomorrow will again be more expensive per liter. As mentioned, those who top up with diesel will be very unhappy with a PHP 4.00 increase. Gasoline-goers will also get an increase, albeit significantly lower than diesel at PHP 0.50. As we’ve come to expect, different stations will update their prices at different times of the day.

Fuel Prices

Caltex will be the earliest, with their pumps updating prices at 12:01 AM. A great majority of players will update their prices later at around 6:00 AM, and these will include the likes of Unioil, Petro Gazz, Seaoil, and Shell, among others.

Per its normal practice, Cleanfuel will be the last to implement the fuel price increase as they’re scheduled to update their pumps at 4:01 PM.

Forecasts were, sadly, right, and this week sees yet another hike in both gasoline and fuel prices. While we hope that this month-long trend sees an end next week, let’s all just try to conserve our tanks as best we can. What with the horrendous traffic along EDSA following its one-time-big-time asphalting and repairs until August 9, we’re in for a lot of jams.

So here you are, ladies and gents, a few tips to help you conserve fuel until your next top-up. Hopefully, we see lower prices for fuel next week, but let’s not hold our breath. The trend and the streak may very well continue. But of course, we really wish it doesn’t.
