Honda Philippines has confirmed the Philippine debut of the all-new Prelude, scheduled to arrive in 2026 as part of the brand’s expanding hybrid lineup. The model returns as a specialty sports hybrid, blending Honda’s legacy nameplate with its latest e:HEV technology.

The all-new Prelude features a low, sharp front end, smooth body lines, and a wide stance aimed at delivering a dynamic driving feel. Its wing-like headlights feature Adaptive Driving Beam and Active Cornering Light to improve nighttime visibility. The clean roofline is achieved using laser brazing, while blue accents on the bumpers highlight the car’s “Unlimited Glide” design theme. Other exterior details include flush door handles and a black chrome grille.

Inside, the Prelude applies the same “gliding” design theme. The cabin features a two-tone Blue & White interior with soft-touch materials, an embroidered Prelude logo, and door panels shaped for easier ingress and egress. The driver’s seat is designed for support during sporty driving, while the passenger seat focuses on comfort. A flat-bottom steering wheel, alloy paddle shifters, and model-exclusive digital meters complete the cockpit.

Honda designed the Prelude to offer both style and practicality. The liftback layout provides cargo space for two medium suitcases. The 60/40 split-folding rear seats allow room for larger items such as two golf bags or short surfboards. Additional storage options include an underfloor compartment, hooks, and a foldable cargo floor divider.

The Prelude is the first Honda model to use the new Honda S+ Shift system on its e:HEV hybrid powertrain. This technology simulates an eight-speed stepped transmission by precisely managing engine RPM, delivering a more direct and engaging acceleration feel. The system works with Active Sound Control to synchronize engine sound and meter display with driving inputs.

As for power figures, the Prelude uses the e:HEV 2.0 four-cylinder, which makes 200 hp.
A new Coasting Control function, inspired by glider dynamics, lets the vehicle decelerate as if in neutral when the driver lifts off the accelerator. The Prelude also offers Sport, GT, Comfort, and Individual drive modes, allowing drivers to tailor powertrain, steering, suspension, display, sound, and cruise control settings.
Built on a chassis derived from the Civic Type R, the Prelude uses high-strength steel, an aluminum hood, and detailed aerodynamic tuning. Key hardware includes dual-axis strut front suspension, adaptive dampers, variable-gear-ratio steering, uniform-rigidity driveshafts, Brembo front brakes, and 19-inch wheels. The model also debuts an enhanced Honda Agile Handling Assist system for improved control during cornering and braking.

Honda SENSING is standard and includes collision mitigation, pedestrian avoidance steering, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, traffic-jam assist, blind-spot monitoring, and more.
An 8-speaker Bose premium sound system is also standard, offering dynamic volume adjustment based on vehicle speed.
Honda describes the new Prelude as a hybrid sports coupe built for driving enjoyment, combining nostalgic appeal with modern electrified technology. The company looks forward to its arrival in the Philippine market next year, and word on the street is, it’s priced to sell.
