MG Motor Philippines has officially introduced the new MG TRQ L, marking the brand’s entry into the pickup truck segment. Designed to combine rugged performance with modern comfort, but realistically, it is a back-to-basics turbodiesel-powered pick-up truck.

Built for both work and leisure, the TRQ L is powered by a 2.0-liter Direct Injection Turbo Diesel Engine producing 161 PS and 400 Nm of torque. It comes with either a ZF 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission, ensuring smooth, efficient power delivery across various driving conditions. The truck features a front double-wishbone and rear leaf-spring suspension setup for durability and ride comfort.

Drivers can choose from three drive modes, namely, Power, Normal, and Eco, to match performance to different driving needs. The TRQ L also offers a 1,055-kg payload capacity and 215 mm of ground clearance, making it capable of tackling demanding tasks and rough terrain. It rides on all-terrain tires and is highlighted by a bold front grille, 5-spoke alloy wheels, and gloss-black trim accents.

Exclusive to the automatic variant are integrated roof rails, side step boards, and fender flares, as well as Smart Entry and One Push Start systems. Both variants include Keyless Entry as standard.

Inside, the TRQ L features a basic yet functional cabin. The automatic variant adds synthetic-leather seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated air-conditioning vents for added comfort.

The MG TRQ L is available in Warm White, Astral Silver, Metal Black, and Metal Ash Gray, with Scarlet Red exclusive to the automatic variant.

Pricing is as follows:

MG TRQ L AT 4×2: ₱1,338,888 (introductory price: ₱1,318,888)

MG TRQ L MT 4×2: ₱1,248,888 (introductory price: ₱1,198,888)

Yes, unfortunately, there is no 4×4 variant to cater to those looking to take their TRQ L off-road.
