Number of newly-overhauled MRT-3 trains reach 50

The maintenance provider of the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) Sumitomo-MHI-TESP, has just finished the overhaul of 50 train cars.

According to the DOTr, after the completion of the 50 train overhaul, there remains a further 22 more which would bring the total of train cars for the MRT-3 to 72.

Currently, there are 21 sets of trains plying the MRT-3 line, which include (19) 3-car CKD and (2) 4-car CKD sets. The MRT-3 line is currently running at 100%, the 3-car set can accommodate 1,182 people, while the 4-car set goes up to 1,576 people.
