The Mitsubishi Colt was actually quite a popular model here in the Philippines a long time ago, but it had never been replaced nor revived here, well there’s an all-new model, and who knows? maybe the Colt could make a comeback.
2024 Mitsubishi Colt
This all-new model is actually done in conjunction with Renault because both brands are part of the alliance. For the 2024 model, the Colt is actually based on the Renault Clio or the CMF-B platform, as such this Colt is actually the result of badge engineering besides the small changes to the grille, bumpers, and lights. Designers did manage to still include the Dynamic Shield grille while still offering full LED headlights and L-shaped LED DRLs.
The powertrain options are also shared with the Clio, the base engine is a 1.0-liter unit that squeezes out 66 hp and 95 Nm of torque, the second option is a turbocharged option with 90 hp and 160 Nm, and lastly, an HEV version that pairs a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with two electric motors that makes a decent 141 hp and 148 Nm of torque.
The interior is fitted with either a 7 or 9-inch smartphone-link display audio system. The higher variant includes ambient lighting and a 9-speaker Bose Sound System as well as wireless charging. Safety-wise the Colt comes with adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, lane departure warning, and lane keep assist.
Production for the Mitsubishi Colt will begin by September this year with the European market set to take deliveries towards the latter half of 2023.
