When talking about legendary engines, one cannot deny that the Toyota 4A-GE is part of the list. The 4A-GE went on to power the AE86, known as the Trueno in some circles and the AW11 MR2.

Toyota GR Department to offer new parts for 4A-GE
The brand’s performance department, Gazoo Racing or GR, just announced that they will be offering new engine blocks and heads for the AE86 Sprinter and Trueno. Furthermore, the brand isn’t just offering remade parts; these parts have been updated to modern standards as well.
It now has more machining for the head, particularly for the combustion chambers, which is for better part-to-part consistency. Intake parts have also been polished to be as smooth as possible, with thicker walls for the intake and exhaust ports, and lastly, a modification that allows the engine to now be used for front-wheel drive configurations.

The engine block has been improved as well. Toyota used a new cast-iron alloy to improve rigidity, and the crankshaft has been beefed up for better durability.
According to reports, the brand plans to launch this improved engine and offer it in Japan during the 30th anniversary celebration of Initial D at Fuji Speedway.
