Toyota PH confirms launch of first ever local EV offering, the bZ4X

Toyota, as a brand, has been the most strategic when it comes to battery electric vehicles. As the world marched in that direction, the Japanese automaker decided to ‘get a lay of the land’ before launching their bZ models, the pure EV Toyota model line.

While the rest of the global automotive community has already gotten the bZ models, the Philippines is just about to get its first electric Toyota.

Toyota bZ4X confirmed for PH

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) dropped a bombshell a few days ago when they announced that, for the first time (locally), they will be selling a full battery electric vehicle (BEV). The bZ4X is set to make its PH debut as pre-orders are now open with prices starting at PHP 2,699,000 (depending on the color), special colors like Platinum White Pearl Mica, and Emotional red will set you back a total of PHP 2,714,000. The bZ4X is actually the brand’s first-ever EV offering to the world, and the model we’re getting has already gone through an update recently. According to the specs we have, the local Toyota bZ4X will come standard as an all-wheel-drive unit (dual-motor layout) with a total system power output of 343 Ps and 338 Nm of torque, which is a more than decent amount of power and torque.

Inside, the bZ4X gets notable features like a 14-inch infotainment screen that comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, and front seat ventilation. Safety is, of course, offered through the Toyota Safety Sense suite, and the bZ4X will come with Park Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and many more.

We still don’t have official information on the exact range of the local bZ4X model, but we’d like to think it’s going to be substantial for Toyota to properly compete in the space.
