2022 Mitsubishi Xpander officially launched, now readily available in PH

Last March, the pre-order books for the 2022 Mitsubishi Xpander were opened. At that time, they asked customers to expect their units to come in around April or May, and they did well with the latter. Today, the 2022 Xpander has “officially” hit Philippine shores and can now be ordered from local dealerships.

The 2022 Mitsubishi Xpander is a facelift, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t come with many new knick-knacks.

Starting with the exterior, the front fascia sports a totally different look. T-shaped headlights along with a fully-redesigned bumper were fitted onto the Xpander. A more solid grill design also dominates the front end, giving it a bigger and sportier look. The rear likewise got a makeover with similar T-shaped taillight units. Its rear bumper is almost the same as the former model’s, but now it has vertical reflector strips instead.

The side remains the same, with the addition of side skirts and new 17-inch alloy wheels.

As for the interior, the Xpander now gets a more angular dashboard and a new-design tilt-telescopic steering wheel. Standard infotainment features in the new Xpander include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On higher-end variants, it also gets automatic climate control, hill start assist, an electronic parking brake, and active stability control among others.

Under the hood sits the same 1.5-Liter 4A91 engine. It’s an inline-4 MIVEC motor that pumps out 105 PS and 141 Nm of torque. Transmission options are either a 5-speed manual on the entry-level variant, or a 4-speed automatic on the mid- and high-end variants.

There are five color options to choose from, and they are Blade Silver Metallic, Graphite Gray, Quartz White Pearl and Red Metallic on for the GLS, and the GLX-exclusive Jet Black Mica.

There will be four variants available for the 2022 Mitsubishi Xpander. Pricing per variant is as follows:

GLX M/T = PHP 1,050,000

GLX A/T = PHP 1,110,000

GLS A/T = PHP 1,180,000

Cross A/T = PHP 1,280,000

Here’s some good news for those who are interested in trying out the 2022 Mitsubishi Xpander. From May 20-22, there will be a specially designed test-drive track simulating varied road conditions will enable individuals, not just those who have been eyeing the brand’s best-selling model but also those who are looking to own a Mitsubishi for the first time, to see and feel the difference firsthand at the driver’s seat.

Those outside of Luzon will also get their chance to get behind the wheel of the 2022 Mitsubishi Xpander. The same 3-day event will also be held in the following locations on the following dates:

Cebu – June 24-26

Davao – July 15-17

Laguna – August 12-14

Pampanga – August 26-28

The Mitsubishi Xpander has constantly grown its fan- and owner-bases in the country, and that comes with very good reason. It’s an MPV capable of seating 7, being economical despite having a 4-speed automatic transmission, and with the 2022 model, it can still do these while making you look a lot better.

We’re pretty sure those who pre-ordered are enjoying their purchase now. If you’re curious, do go to the test drive at MOA. The Xpander might actually surprise you in a lot of good ways.
