The Hyundai Kona Hybrid makes its way to the Philippines

Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) marked its third anniversary with the official launch of the all-new Hyundai KONA Hybrid at Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater in BGC.

Introduced initially globally in 2017 and locally in 2018, the KONA returns to Philippine showrooms as a second-generation hybrid subcompact SUV. Known for its design and performance, the KONA has received multiple awards worldwide and now joins Hyundai’s expanding electrified vehicle lineup in the country.

The new KONA Hybrid is positioned for customers seeking a practical yet stylish vehicle. It features a redesigned, aerodynamic exterior with a signature LED horizon lamp, 3D bumper accents, and 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels exclusive to the Premium variant. Additional features include a power sunroof and roof rails.

The KONA’s 1.6-liter hybrid engine, mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivers 141 PS and 144 Nm of torque. It also includes Smart Regenerative Braking and e-Motion Drive for smoother handling and better fuel efficiency.

Inside, the KONA focuses on comfort and functionality. It features a dual 12.3-inch panoramic display for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, an electronic shift-by-wire system, and an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a cooling wireless charging pad and USB Type-C ports, come standard. Rear seats can be folded flat, offering up to 1,241 liters of cargo space. A customizable Smart Power Tailgate adds to its convenience.

For safety, the KONA is equipped with Hyundai SmartSense, the brand’s advanced driver assistance suite. This includes Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot View Monitor, and Surround View Monitor.

The launch of the KONA Hybrid expands Hyundai’s local hybrid offerings, joining the SANTA FE, TUCSON, and ELANTRA.

The all-new KONA Hybrid is available in two variants:

• KONA 1.6 HEV GLS 6DCT – Php 1,528,000
• KONA 1.6 HEV Premium 6DCT – Php 1,688,000
