2023 Toyota Yaris gets facelifted in Thailand, does that mean PH will get facelifted Vios and Yaris too?

We recently wrote that some spy shots of the 2023 Toyota Vios were leaked online. What made the photos significant was the fact that they weren’t the all-new model launched previously but were just facelifted versions of the current generation model.

This made us speculate that the current model being sold may stay for another year before the all-new one comes along, and that speculation might just be correct given the latest development out of Thailand.

2023 Toyota Yaris Rear

Toyota Yaris Facelift

The more aggressive and angular look seen in the spy shots of the Vios is seen in the newly revealed 2023 Yaris facelift. This doesn’t come as a surprise given that both vehicles share a lot in common. The latest development is a strong indication that we may receive a facelift of the Vios this year before we get the all-new model.

What does the facelift have to offer? well as mentioned it now features a more striking and sporty face like the spy photos, but the majority of the panels and the car itself are recognizable.

2023 Toyota Yaris Interior

Inside is pretty much the same story as the exterior, with small changes here and there but everything else seems to stay the same, except for the new floating infotainment screen with what looks like Apple CarPlay and probably Android Auto.

As for engine options, they remain the same also with the Thai-market Yaris offering either a 1.2-liter 3NR-FKE Inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 92 horsepower and 109 Nm of torque, paired to a CVT. What is interesting is that the facelift Yaris comes with the Toyota Safety Sense suite with features like Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Blindspot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and more.

What do you guys think? would you buy the facelift or wait for the all-new model instead?
