The 2024 Honda CR-V has finally been officially launched by Honda Cars Philippines. Now in its 6th generation, the brand’s well-loved crossover has a lot of great things going for it, and we’re rounding up those that we believe just add to the draw of this all-new model. Let’s have a look at what you’re getting with your coin, shall we?
2024 Honda CR-V brings a whole lot of the first, good, and new stuff to the PH crossover market

Engine choices
For the 6th generation, the CR-V gets two different engine choices. The first is a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine mated to a CVT. As you might have heard or expected, this mill shares the same block as the engine found under the hood of the turbocharged Honda Civic but is tuned differently to give the V more power. It now makes 188 HP and gives 240 Nm of pull.
The second engine option is a 2.0-liter gasoline engine that runs on the Atkinson Cycle and is paired with two electric motors. Yes, the CR-V finally has a hybrid variant in the Philippines. If you’re wondering about its figures, the hybrid system puts out a combined power of close to 200 HP (engine rated at 146 HP, electric motor tandem at 181 Nm). The torque for the gas mill is 183 Nm and a staggering 335 Nm for the electric motors. The hybrid variant is mated to an e-CVT.
Hybrid Water-Wading
A major concern about the e:HEV or the hybrid variant, specifically, is its water-wading capability. Given that our roads are prone to flooding, especially following a torrential downpour, Honda has an answer to that query. The hybrid CR-V is rated up to 198mm, and it shares this figure with the entry-level V variant. The VX AWD, though, has a higher wading depth of 208mm.
These numbers come with a proper “warning”, though. The CR-V, as with any motor vehicle, must be used “practically” and under “normal” conditions. That said, these water-wading depths are not to be tested recklessly, and serve as a guide to what it can possibly tackle only if absolutely needed. Take this information with as much sense as you can, of course.
Honda SENSING
The brand’s proprietary safety suite, Honda SENSING, also makes its way to the 2024 CR-V. It’s even greater news that the system comes standard in all variants of the CR-V, and its features list is very extensive.
Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist, Auto High Beam, Road Departure Mitigation, Lead Car Departure Notification, Agile Handling Assist, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, and a Multiview Reverse Camera with 360 View are only some of the inclusions. Yes, there’s more, and we think you should go see them for yourself.
Honda CONNECT
By way of smart device technology, you can take control of the CR-V with Honda CONNECT. No, it does not drive itself yet, but with CONNECT, you can get information about your V’s status in real-time.
Safety and security features that can be accessed via the mobile app include Automatic Collision Detection, the Security Alarm, Speed Alert/Geo Fence, the Find My Car feature, and it can make an Emergency Call as well. As for convenience, CONNECT shows you your car’s current status, an app dashboard to control other in-car features, a Remote Vehicle Control function, and it also gives you Service Reminders.
Honda CONNECT is, by the way, a paid service, but fret not because Honda Cars Philippines is giving buyers a free 3-year subscription when they purchase the all-new CR-V!
Variants and Prices
Before the formal launch, Honda Cars Philippines released a price list. Surprise, surprise, though, as these were brought lower. As of its launch date, the official prices of the different 2024 CR-V variants are as follows:
- 1.5 V Turbo CVT = PHP 2,100,000
- 1.5 VX Turbo CVT AWD = PHP 2,280,000
- 2.0 RS e:HEV E-CVT = PHP 2,590,000
This price reduction is perhaps the most pleasant surprise for anyone excited about the CR-V’s launch, and we can’t blame anyone if they feel that way. Yes, on paper, this is the most expensive that it has been since it was first introduced, but this is also the most technologically advanced CR-V that has graced the PH crossover market. And as far as pricing goes, you get a whole lot of value, and we can’t blame Honda Cars Philippines for these amounts either.
