Huge fuel price hike for gas, PHP 2.60, and diesel, PHP 1.70 today

Last week saw a fuel price rollback streak broken. This week, it seems a price increase is now steamrolling toward its own streak. For the 2nd week in a row, pump prices have been adjusted to higher amounts per liter. Different gas stations will apply the adjustments at different times, but as of today, April 11, 2023, gasoline prices have gone up by PHP 2.60 and diesel by PHP 1.70.

Both gasoline and diesel fuel prices went up today, and by staggering amounts

This couldn’t have come at a worse time. With much of the motoring public having burned through their fuel tanks following a very long holiday, filling up is going to cost a lot more than when they gassed up last week. This is one of the biggest jumps in prices this year, and we’re sure everyone’s going to feel it when they head over to their gas station of choice.

Those who go to CleanFuel, though, still have some time to get their tanks filled up with last week’s prices. They will adjust their prices at 4:01 PM later today.

Caltex increased their prices as of 12:01 AM, with Shell and Petron updating theirs as of 6:00 AM. As of this posting, others have already followed suit.

This isn’t such a good way to start the work week, but we do empathize with everyone who owns a vehicle and needs to have their fuel tanks filled. At this price increase per liter, even motorcycles are bound to take and feel the hit of this week’s fuel price hike.

That said, here are some fuel-saving tips that may help you save fuel this week. At the rate things are going, we might have to scrimp because next week might just come back with another doozy of an increase.
