Honda has unveiled the Super-ONE Prototype, a compact electric vehicle developed to combine everyday usability with an engaging driving experience. The world premiere took place at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, where the vehicle will be displayed at Honda’s booth until November 9, 2025.
The Super-ONE Prototype was built under the concept “e: Dash BOOSTER”, representing Honda’s goal to make daily mobility more exciting through an enjoyable and immersive in-vehicle experience. The name “Super-ONE” reflects the company’s aim to create a car that surpasses conventional standards (“super”) while remaining uniquely Honda (“one and only”).
Designed with a focus on both environmental performance and driving enjoyment, the Super-ONE Prototype uses a lightweight platform derived from Honda’s N Series models. The wide stance, accentuated by flared blister fenders, enhances stability and gives the car a dynamic appearance.
A key feature of the prototype is Boost Mode, developed specifically for this model. When activated, Boost Mode increases power output and synchronizes the simulated 7-speed transmission with the Active Sound Control system. This setup produces a responsive acceleration feel, realistic gearshifts, and a powerful engine-like sound, offering the sensation of driving a traditional engine-powered car while retaining the benefits of an EV.

The prototype has undergone testing across Japan, the U.K., and Asia, ensuring its performance on different road and climate conditions. Its concept predecessor, the Super EV Concept, was also showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025 in the U.K., demonstrating Honda’s vision for a new kind of EV driving excitement.

Honda plans to release the production version in Japan in 2026, followed by launches in other markets with high demand for compact EVs, including the U.K. and Asia. The vehicle’s name will vary by region with the name Super-ONE in Japan and most of Asia, Honda Super-ONE in select Asian markets, and Super-N in the U.K. That being said, there is also a huge chance for this supercompact EV to also launch in the Philippines.

The exterior combines aerodynamic efficiency with a sporty stance. Prominent blister fenders, wide tires, and integrated front and rear air ducts contribute to both dynamic styling and improved cooling and aerodynamic performance.

Inside, the cabin emphasizes driver engagement. Exclusive sports seats provide firm support, while a horizontally oriented instrument panel enhances visibility. The use of asymmetrical blue interior accents adds a distinctive visual element.

The Super-ONE Prototype also features Boost Mode, which adjusts power output, cabin sound, and gauge display to heighten the driving experience. Drivers can enjoy realistic feedback through sound, vibration, and acceleration cues, reinforcing Honda’s commitment to delivering a new kind of EV driving enjoyment.
So, what do you think about welcoming an additional compact EV competitor on the block?
