Navigation gone wrong! MMDA pulls out car stuck between 2 PNR tracks

The advent of high technology has made drivers quite dependent on navigation apps. In what appears to be a very odd and dangerous blunder, the MMDA responded to a call regarding a vehicle stuck between 2 elevated PNR tracks. So precarious was its position that it could’ve plunged into the creek below. The culprit, according to the driver, is navigation gone wrong.

Navigation apps are a godsend. This editor remembers when he had a road atlas in the backseat of his car, and since mobile data and technology have all the road information we need right on our phones, driving around can’t be any easier. But then again, technology isn’t perfect, as is the case we see here.

According to the driver, he was just following the directions that his navigation was giving him. Unfortunately, the app or the map itself might not have been updated, but for whatever reason it is, the car was led to turn straight onto the PNR tracks. Given that the driver wasn’t too familiar with the area, he drove on until the car almost fell between two tracks. The “kunswelo” here is that the car got stuck and didn’t fall into the creek. The fates were still smiling, we suppose, and the MMDA was able to do its job and help.

Some will laugh at this stroke of another’s misfortune, but the biggest takeaway here is the fact that we should always be more cautious and alert, especially in unfamiliar areas. Almost all cars we drive alongside have some form of navigation app working through their mobile device, and as we said, it is a godsend. But when it all comes down to it, we have to be careful whenever and wherever we drive.

No blames or ridicule cast here as it was an accident after all. We’re just glad that no one got hurt in this mishap. But let’s take what lessons we can from this, yes?
