Porsche has introduced the first fully electric Cayenne, marking a significant step in the brand’s electrification strategy. The new model delivers up to 850 kW (1,156 PS), 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, and charging power of up to 400 kW. It also offers a range of up to 642 km, making it the most powerful production Porsche to date.

The electric Cayenne continues the legacy of the original 2002 model, which expanded Porsche into the SUV segment. “The Cayenne Electric shows performance in a new dimension and sets new standards in the SUV segment,” said Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG. Porsche also reports that 36% of its global sales are already electrified in 2025. Accounting for more than ¼ of sales figures.

The Cayenne Electric range begins with two variants: the Cayenne Electric and the Cayenne Turbo Electric, both equipped with all-wheel drive and Porsche Traction Management (ePTM).

The Cayenne Turbo Electric produces up to 850 kW (1,156 PS) and 1,500 Nm with Launch Control. It reaches 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 260 km/h. A new rear-axle electric motor with direct oil cooling supports sustained high output. Normal driving mode delivers up to 630 kW (857 PS), with a 130 kW (176 PS) boost available via Push-to-Pass.

The base Cayenne Electric generates 300 kW (408 PS) in regular operation and 325 kW (442 PS) with Launch Control. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 230 km/h.

The electric Cayenne recovers up to 600 kW of energy, which is comparable to Formula E levels, with 97% of daily braking handled by the motors. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes are optional on the Turbo model.

Both variants come with adaptive air suspension and PASM as standard. The Turbo Electric adds PTV Plus, with rear-axle steering and Porsche Active Ride available. The new active suspension reduces body movements and improves stability and comfort.

The SUV uses a 113 kWh high-voltage battery with double-sided cooling. WLTP range is up to 642 km for the Cayenne Electric and 623 km for the Turbo. The 800-volt architecture supports DC charging at up to 390 kW, or 400 kW under specific conditions. The battery can charge from 10 to 80% in under 16 minutes, or gain 325 km (Cayenne) or 315 km (Turbo) of range in 10 minutes.

The model also debuts optional 11 kW inductive charging via Porsche Wireless Charging, which activates automatically when the vehicle parks over a designated floor plate.

The new design retains Porsche proportions, with a lower bonnet, a single-module Matrix LED headlight, and pronounced wings. Frameless doors, two-tone side skirts, and model-specific wheel arch trims highlight the SUV’s profile.

At the rear, a 3D light strip with animated graphics and illuminated Porsche lettering modernizes the look. Turbo models feature Turbonite accents on badges, wheels, and trim.
An Off-Road package improves approach angles and durability. With a drag coefficient of 0.25, the electric Cayenne becomes one of the most aerodynamic SUVs in its class. Porsche Active Aerodynamics includes cooling flaps, an adaptive spoiler, and active rear aeroblades on the Turbo.
The new model is 55 mm longer than the combustion Cayenne, with a 3,023 mm wheelbase that improves rear legroom. Cargo space ranges from 781 to 1,588 litres, plus a 90-litre front trunk. Towing capacity ranges from 3.5 tonnes to 4.5 tonnes, depending on configuration.

New “Mood Modes” adjust seating, lighting, climate, and sound. A Panoramic Roof with Variable Light Control uses switchable crystal film, while new panel heating warms seats, armrests, and door panels. Expanded ambient lighting includes a communication light for entry and charging status.
Customers can select from 13 exterior colours, nine wheel designs, 12 interior combinations and multiple design packages. Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur also provides further customisation, including Paint to Sample. Matching Porsche Design timepieces can be ordered.

The Porsche Driver Experience introduces the Flow Display, a curved OLED centre screen, paired with a fully digital 14.25-inch instrument cluster and an optional 14.9-inch passenger display. The combined display area is the largest ever installed in a Porsche.
A head-up display with AR technology is available for the first time in a Cayenne. Physical controls remain for frequently used functions.
The new Porsche Digital Interaction system allows widget-based shortcuts, display themes, streaming apps, and gaming features. The AI-based Voice Pilot offers contextual language processing, while the Porsche Digital Key enables smartphone and smartwatch access for up to seven users.
This is also the future of infotainment and technology for succeeding Porsche models.

The electric Cayenne joins the combustion and plug-in hybrid versions, all of which will continue to be offered. “We will continue to develop combustion and hybrid drive systems well into the next decade,” said Matthias Becker, Board Member for Sales and Marketing. “Customers will have a choice between fully electric and combustion engines in every segment.”
