Ford is bringing street truck culture straight from the factory with the launch of the 2025 F-150 Lobo, set to hit USA dealerships later this year. Building on the momentum of the Maverick Lobo, which debuted last year, the F-150 Lobo is the brand’s boldest move yet in embracing an enthusiast-driven segment that the aftermarket scene has long shaped.

Initially introduced by Ford of Mexico in 1997, the Lobo nameplate returns with a modern, aggressive identity. Ford says it appeals to a new wave of pickup buyers who crave street presence, performance, and authenticity straight from the source.

Available as a SuperCrew STX package, the F-150 Lobo comes standard with a 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 400 hp and 555 Nm of torque. This setup is paired with Ford’s upgraded two-speed automatic four-wheel-drive system, balancing street performance and utility.

The Lobo’s suspension is lower than the base F-150’s, dropping the rear end by two inches. A 10-piece ground effects package enhances this low-slung appearance, complemented by 22-inch gloss-black wheels, dual exhaust tips, and a cowl hood for added street attitude. So, no, its 4×4 system and suspension setup aren’t for off-road use but for ripping up the tarmac.

A new wide gloss-black mesh lower grille, distinctive upper grille with integrated light bar, black-accented hood vents, exhaust outlets, and badging define the Lobo’s imposing front end. The headlights are redesigned to echo the Maverick Lobo’s identity, while upgraded taillamps add a premium touch.

According to Ford designer Josh Blundo, a lifelong street truck fan and builder, the Lobo was designed with a deep understanding of what the community wants: a factory solution with attitude, performance, the credibility of the Ford badge, and a factory-backed limited warranty.

“We built Lobo to be the powerful and stylish street truck enthusiasts truly want, from the factory,” Blundo shared. “This is a solution that comes straight from Ford — a complete foundation ready for those who want to drive it as-is or make it their own.”

With street truck culture resurging across America, Ford’s introduction of the 2025 F-150 Lobo aims to deliver a purpose-built platform to a market largely ignored by OEMs for the past two decades. The Lobo reimagines what a factory-built street truck can be and marks a high-performance return to a scene where it’s long been missed.
That being said, in the Philippines, a considerable percentage of owners use their trucks on the street, meaning that the F-150 Lobo may have an untapped market locally. They could also consider bringing in the Maverick, which can slot alongside the Ford Ranger.
