BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, has deployed 20 units of the BYD Sealion 5 DM-i to the Highland Transport Service Cooperative (HTSC) in Northern Luzon, marking the launch of the country’s first Sealion 5 DM-i taxi fleet.
The rollout was carried out in partnership with dealer partner SEAelectric and is part of HTSC’s ongoing re-fleeting program to modernize transport services in the La Trinidad and Cordillera region.

The Sealion 5 DM-i runs on BYD’s Super DM-i technology, which prioritizes electric-first operation while extending driving range and reducing fuel consumption. The vehicle is intended for daily transport use across the varied terrain of Benguet and the surrounding areas.
According to BYD Cars Philippines, the new fleet is expected to lower operating costs for drivers and provide a quieter, more comfortable ride for passengers.
“The deployment of the first BYD Sealion 5 DM-i taxi fleet in the La Trinidad and Cordillera region highlights how it delivers an innovative, efficient, and cost-effective solution that performs well beyond city roads, supporting operators navigating the varied terrain of Benguet and surrounding areas,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines.
