This awesome Casio X NISMO MY23 timepiece is every watch and Nissan fan’s dream come true

Everyone has a hobby, right? Some like watches, some like cars, and some are lucky enough to hit two birds with one stone. With this new collaboration between Casio and NISMO, you get yourself a cool timepiece that was made to pay tribute to the racing heritage of Nissan, specifically its #23 Super GT Z Ace race car.

It’s not a car, but hey, it’s a NISMO and a Casio

We always say that collaborations between automotive brands and watchmakers are quite common. Today we’re looking at this particular piece from Casio. Being a long-time supporter of Nissan and its performance and racing division NISMO, this specific watch pays tribute to car #23 that’s been racing the field since 2021.

The MY23 is based on the Edifice Sospensione ECB-2000 model. For this limited release, the red and black color clearly reflects the livery of the racecar. This particular shade of red is exactly the same as the uniquely-developed hue used on #23. The red at the 12 o’clock position of the watch face shifts to black as you go down to the 6 o’clock marker.

Other details that make this limited piece even more unique include the linear pattern found on the rear fenders of #23 neatly incorporated as a dial inlay design. Fluorescent yellow markers and arms were put in to provide a proper accent to the watch face. As one may expect, the number “23” is also stylized on the 23rd-minute marker.

To add to the novelty, a symbolic layout of design elements inspired by a Japanese sword motif is expressed in different finishes applied to the black ion-plated metal bezel. You’ll also find the NISMO logo engraved at the 1 o’clock marker of the bezel, with the rest of the minute markers being finished in an original Nissan font.

You’ll also find the NISMO badging on the metal strap stay. On the back case, both the Edifice and NISMO logos are engraved as well as the “23”. Not much of a surprise, it comes in a special box and packaging in the red and black team colors.

As the icing on the cake – or case – it’s made of resin that’s reinforced by carbon fiber, the material of choice used in motorsports for both its light weight and unparalleled durability. Great touch, Casio.

Other added and essential features for this NISMO timepiece include a countdown indicator, Smartphone pairing via Bluetooth, Casio’s Tough Solar Power technology, high-luminosity Super Illuminator double LEDs on the dial and LCD, as well as scratch-resistant, highly transparent sapphire crystal.

How much does this Casio X NISMO timepiece cost? There’s no official price posted on the Casio website, but others are pegging the tag at $420 dollars. Roughly translated, that’s around PHP 22,820. Now don’t quote us on that, because after importation, taxes, profit, and the high likelihood of “enthusiast” or even scalper tax, this limited watch’s price may go up even more, if it even makes its way here. We hope it does, and we hope the price doesn’t; go up to exorbitant amounts, we mean.

Let the watch hunt commence!
