JAECOO Philippines launches its J7 SHS Hybrid–Adding electrified options in the market

JAECOO J7 SHS Hybrid

JAECOO has officially launched the J7 SHS Hybrid in the Philippines, offering consumers a vehicle with high fuel efficiency, extended range, and advanced safety features. The model uses the brand’s SHS Super Hybrid technology, pairing a fifth-generation 1.5TDGI hybrid engine with an intelligent hybrid system and high-performance battery pack. Combined power figures for the J7 SHS are at 275 hp and 365 Nm of torque, which helps propel the crossover from zero to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds. That being said, power figures are somewhat confusing, with the internal combustion engine producing 141 hp and 215 Nm of torque, and the electric motor generating 201 hp and 310 Nm of torque. This means that the full power figures are not fully combined and will never be.

The engine delivers a thermal efficiency of 44.5% and a combined fuel consumption of 24.4 km/L. It features six key points, including the deep Miller cycle and i-HEC high-efficiency combustion, designed to balance performance and fuel economy. The Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) adjusts power output according to driving conditions, providing smooth operation in both city and highway settings.

Safety features include a hybrid-specific battery pack with heat, impact, and water resistance. It can cut power within 2 milliseconds during a collision. The battery supports up to 90 km of pure electric driving and a 3.3 kW V2L function for powering external devices.

The J7 SHS is available in two variants: Comfort (₱1,449,000) and Premium (₱1,549,000). Introductory prices until September 15, 2025, are ₱1,399,000 and ₱1,499,000, respectively. It comes in four colors: Khaki Gray, Moonlight Silver, Carbon Crystal Black, and Olive Gray.

JAECOO says the model has been a strong seller globally, leading hybrid sales in markets such as Israel, Poland, the UK, Spain, Italy, and Malaysia, with consistent sales exceeding 10,000 units per month. JAECOO aims to replicate its success in the Philippine market, which has shown growing demand for fuel-efficient and eco-friendly vehicles.
