Mazda has announced that reservations for the new Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster lineup will open in Japan this fall. The models were first unveiled at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon, where Mazda confirmed production versions would closely follow the earlier concept cars.

Two variants will be available: the Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster 12R and the Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster. Both were developed using technology refined through Mazda’s Super Taikyu racing activities and emphasize performance, driving feel, and interior and exterior refinement.
The highlight of the lineup is the limited-production 12R, restricted to 200 units. Priced at around ¥7 million, it is powered by a 2.0-liter engine producing 200 horsepower, paired with Bilstein suspension, Advan Neova tires, and a Brembo Big Brake kit. The cabin is equipped with Recaro full bucket seats and exclusive trim designed to create a race-ready atmosphere.
The standard Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster retains the 2.0-liter engine with 181 horsepower but adds enhancements such as a tuned suspension, upgraded brakes, and Advan Neova tires. Inside, it features Recaro bucket seats that strike a balance between sportiness and comfort.
Both models aim to deliver a driving experience that can be enjoyed on city streets as well as on the circuit.

That being said, while Mazda did say that the limited 12R would only be available in Japan, the regular Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster would be available globally; the only question now is when.
