The all-electric Porsche Macan makes its world debut

A decade after its launch, the Porsche Macan is entering its second generation, now in an all-electric variant. With its modern design, iconic Porsche performance, extended range, and practicality, the new Macan 4 and Macan Turbo aim to meet the needs of Porsche SUV enthusiasts. “We are elevating the Macan to a whole new level with exceptional E-Performance, an innovative Driver Experience, and an impressive design,” stated Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, during the global premiere in Singapore.

Jörg Kerner, Vice President Product Line Macan, expressed the goal of offering the sportiest electric model in its segment. Employing the latest generation of PSM electric motors, the Macan 4 delivers up to 402 hp, while the Macan Turbo reaches up to 630 hp. These electric motors, combined with advanced features like Launch Control, result in outstanding performance, with the Macan 4 accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and the Macan Turbo achieving it in just 3.3 seconds.

Utilizing an 800-volt architecture in the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), the Macan’s lithium-ion battery boasts a gross capacity of 100 kWh, enabling a remarkable range. The DC charging output reaches up to 270 kW, allowing for a rapid charge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 21 minutes at fast-charging stations. The Macan also incorporates active and passive aerodynamics, contributing to its impressive range and energy efficiency.

The design of the new Macan maintains Porsche’s DNA while adapting to the challenges of an electric vehicle. The aerodynamic features, combined with Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA), result in a sleek and streamlined SUV with a drag coefficient of 0.25. The interior of the Macan offers increased luggage space, practicality, and high-quality features, emphasizing performance and everyday usability.

The Macan includes up to three screens, including a 12.6-inch instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch central display, and is equipped with the latest display and operating concept. The Porsche Driver Experience incorporates a head-up display with augmented reality, enhancing the driving experience. The infotainment system is based on Android Automotive OS, providing advanced connectivity and computing power.

Porsche focused on driving dynamics in the development of the Macan, incorporating features like all-wheel drive, rear-axle steering, and two-valve dampers. The Macan is set to continue the success story of its predecessors, with production at the Porsche Plant Leipzig ensuring net carbon neutrality. Deliveries of the new Macan models are scheduled for the second half of the year. It is also safe to say that the all-new Macan would definitely arrive here in the Philippines after some time.
