We reported recently that Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is set to launch its first-ever EV offering in the Philippines. At the time, we were only able to report on some of its specs and the price. With the reservations already on their way, the brand is eager to draw in more buyers and has released new information.
Japan Sourced
We’re often used to EVs coming from China; even major brands like Tesla get their local inventory from there; however, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has decided to cater to the hardcore Toyota believers by sourcing the bZ4X from the homeland, Japan.

Another piece of information omitted from the original announcement was the range, which is an essential part of EV buying consideration. Addressing this, TMP President Masando Hashimoto had this to say: “We are encouraged by the positive reception by the public to the news of bZ4X local release,” said Hashimoto. “Understandably, one of the most asked questions is the average range of the EV. While actual consumption and range will vary based on conditions and driving habits, we were able to register 570 km of EV range. This is based on internationally accepted Fuel Consumption Test Protocol under UN Regulations No. 101.”
So there we have it, we now have the full picture of the brand’s first EV offering locally, and priced at just PHP 2,699,000 (depending on color), it has come in competitively. Those interested can visit this page for more: https://www.toyota.com.ph/reservebz4x
