The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is seeking to file charges against erring MRT-3 passengers who cause disruptions in train operations by forcibly opening its train doors.

Transportation secretary Arthur Tugade has emphasized that the EDSA-laden railway has not faced any technical problems after completing its annual general maintenance during the holy week.
“From now on lahat ng mahuhuling sumasandal o nagpipilit magbukas ng pinto ng tren kahit sarado na, kasuhan!” (From now on, all passengers who are caught leaning on doors or forcibly open them, even if they are closing, we will file cases against them), he announced at the Philippine Economic Briefing in Clark City. “”For the last 11 days, there was no unloading, it was smooth. Today we have the first unloading. Do you know the cause? There was someone who put pressure on the door. Pinilit na pumasok habang sarado na (The passenger forced it open when it was already closed),” he said.
Tugade said the incident should not be blamed on the MRT management as this is caused by the passenger’s negligence.
The said incident led to the first MRT-3 offloading incident at the Santolan-Annapolis station last Thursday, April 12, citing “door failure” as the reason for the problem.

Ang isa sa mga rason bakit may ganyang senaryo ay dahil sa ibang pasahero din na nasa loob na ng train. Yung mga taong ayaw pumasok sa loob, yung mga taong kahit siksikan na panay mobile legends pa din at walang pakialam sa ibang nakasakay. 15-20 minutes lang na bibitawan ang mga cellphones hindi pa magawa? Isa pa yung mga taong nasa loob nga pero uupo naman sa sahig, imbis na may makapwesto pa sa gitna ayun wala na kasi occupied na nila ang space.
Mahirap tanggapin na karamihan ng mga mananakay walang disiplina at konsiderasyon. Karagdagan yan sa problema ng MRT. Meron pa dyan kahit nakapaskil na na dalawang pila lang, meron pa ding gagawa ng sariling linya sa gitna, meron pang mga nagtatanga-tangahan na sisingit sa pila… ganyan tayong mga pinoy. Accept it na lang.
