MG Philippines commences retail sales and deliveries of G50 PHEV

SAIC Motor Philippines Incorporated has officially started retail sales of the MG G50 PHEV in the country, marking a major step in the company’s electrification efforts. The launch was highlighted by the ceremonial turnover of the first batch of units to customers.

The MG G50 PHEV has already generated strong market interest, securing more than 800 reservations since its debut at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show in April.

The turnover ceremony was held at MG Alabang, where the first customers formally received their vehicles. Among them was Mauro Cortez, a business owner who plans to use the MG G50 PHEV for his furniture business operations, and Reginald Gregorio, who selected the vehicle for family use and daily trips.

MG Motor Philippines said the arrival and release of the units, which will occur shortly after the model’s preview, reflect strong demand and a positive reception from Filipino buyers. The company positioned the G50 PHEV as a practical option for families looking to transition to electrified mobility, combining performance, efficiency, and versatility.

“We are encouraged by the positive response to this model, and we remain committed to providing Filipino motorists with innovative mobility solutions that combine performance, efficiency, and everyday usability,” said Wei Wei Zhang, president of MG Motor Philippines.

The MG G50 PHEV uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain that allows both electric and gasoline driving. It has a factory-rated combined driving range of up to 1,415 kilometers, offering efficiency for daily commuting while maintaining long-distance capability.

It also features a spacious cabin, premium amenities, and advanced technology aimed at family-oriented buyers.

MG Motor Philippines said the rollout of the G50 PHEV expands its electrified vehicle lineup in the local market. The company added that growing interest in new energy vehicles is driven by demand for practical, versatile mobility solutions.

The G50 PHEV also forms part of MG’s broader push to introduce more advanced powertrain options in the Philippines, supported by the brand’s expanding dealership network and aftersales services.
