“Build, Build, Build” hasn’t lost steam at all. In a recent statement, Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) announced that Segment 2 of the CAVITEX C5 link is set to begin construction following a finalized partnership with the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC). The target start is within this month (Q1) and if all goes well, should open to the public before the year’s end.
CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2: 1.9 kilometers long, 3-lane expressway

Segment 2 of the Link covers a distance of 1.9 kilometers. Going in two directions, each will have 3 lanes and it will connect CAVITEX R-1 (Coastal Rd.) from Paranaque Toll Plaza to Sucat thru R-1 Interchange. Once it’s complete, the travel time between Sucat Road and R-1 is sent to be cut down to just 10 minutes.

“The CAVITEX C5 Link is a vital segment of the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway Project (MCTEP), so far, we managed to open 3.8-kilometer (Segment 3A1 and 3A2) to the motoring public, serving more than 16,000 vehicles daily. Still, we have a long way to go,” said Mr. Raul L. Ignacio, President and General Manager of Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation.
“This is something we cannot do alone, hence our search for a contractor that would be up for the task-delivering world-class quality infrastructure for our motorists within our timeline. We are glad that our new partner China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) took on the challenge,” Ignacio later added.
As a whole, the CAVITEX C5 Link project covers 7.7 kilometers. It is a 2×3 lane expressway that will connect CAVITEX R1 to C5 Road in Taguig and is expected to serve 40,000 vehicles per day. Once the entire project has been completed, travel time to Makati and Taguig from Parañaque City, Las Pinas City, and Cavite Province will be reduced by forty-five (45) minutes. This is all in the hopes that it will help in decongesting traffic in Metro Manila.
