If there’s a Raging Bull model that’s seen a great deal of updated “versions”, it’s the Lamborghini Huracan. You’d think that an 8-year old model is close to its production end, but not for the Huracan. Enter the newest member of the stable: the 2022 Huracan Tecnica.
Lamborghini seems to have struck a good balance of aggressive looks and adrenaline-pumping track performance with the Tecnica. Prior to its reveal, fans had to choose between a rather “docile” looking Evo or the radical STO. The Tecnica seems to slot comfortably between these two models.
On the outside, it’s basically an Evo clone. You won’t find low-slung diffusers and skirts, and there’s no wild wing at the back of the Tecnica. Customers will be happy to know that while the exterior will be similar to almost every other Evo out there, they can personalize their interior motif care of Lamborghini’s Ad Personam customization program. Unique as a Lamborghini is, this makes your Tecnica bespoke.
The powertrain and drivetrain are what make the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica special. Powering it is the same 5.2-Liter V10 STO engine that drives the rear wheels. It pumps out 640 PS and 565 Nm of torque. It has an uprated power-to-weight ratio as well, allowing it to blast from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. Added go-fast goodies include rear-wheel steering with direct steering ratio and torque vectoring, an updated Performance Traction Control System (P-TCS), a Tecnica-specific suspension setup, and a new brake cooling management system.
“The Huracán Tecnica condenses Lamborghini’s design and engineering expertise to create the perfect fun-to-drive Huracán, as compelling when driving to the race circuit as it is on the track itself. The Tecnica completes the Huracán lineup, sitting perfectly between the RWD and the track-focused STO, flawlessly presenting technology, performance, and the Huracán’s V10 aspirated engine in a dramatically evolved design.” – Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini
Italian steeds – or a bull, in this case – were never really built for or as a compromise. But in this case, we think Lamborghini listened to their fans. For those who want the best of both worlds without having to look run-of-the-mill (Ha! As if that’s possible if you’re driving a Lambo!) or have to suffer from driving a track-centric car on the street, then the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica is what you’re looking for.
