The Land Transportation Office has been pretty serious with its campaign on ease of providing service. With the addition of yet another LTO drive-thru motor vehicle renewal site, things are shaping up pretty well for Jayart Tugade and his agency. After CamSur, the new facility in Sorsogon seeks to service our fellow countrymen and women.
Newest LTO Drive-Thru facility opens in Sorsogon
About two and a half months after the CamSur LTO Drive-Thru facility opened, it’s Sorsogon’s turn to get their own taste of convenience when dealing with the agency. It’s hoped that this will make vehicle registration renewal quicker and easier for all.
As with all the similar facilities that opened before it, the Sorsogon satellite has all the necessary infrastructure to process registration renewals and have them done without having to wait for a long time.
Both 2- and 4-wheeled vehicles can start taking advantage of the service that the branch is offering. In all the other facilities, the LTO boldly stated that the entire renewal process can only take as long as 20 minutes. Given that the inspection at the PMVIC will last anywhere from 12-17 minutes, the processing of the paperwork will only take 3 minutes, hence the 20-minute claim. We’re pretty sure this is on point, though.
It’s not been easy dealing with an agency such as the LTO given all the red tape and corruption, but LTO Drive-Thru Renewal Centers such as this are a step in the right direction. With all the other efforts of LTO Chief Tugade and the rest of the agency, we may see some real, tangible changes in how to deal with the government and our motor vehicle concerns.
Sadly, though, these satellites have only been opened in places outside of Metro Manila. So the question remains as to why. Won’t the metropolis benefit from LTO Drive-Thru facilities as well? Maybe it’s in the works, or perhaps that’s already in the plans, but for now, our fellow Filipina and Filipino motorists can go and enjoy the convenience that they offer.
