The DOTr responded to the governor’s proposals by citing Directive Orders (DO) and Memorandums that have already been implemented. However, the institution did not state any clear solutions to the emphasized issues the commuters are currently facing.

In his first point, Governor Remulla proposed that the DOTr permit public utility vehicles (PUVs) to enter Metro Manila until their terminal pick-up points. The DOTr countered that a directive order (DO) exists to convert provincial buses into city operational buses and implementing the governor’s suggestion would render the DO null and void.

For Governor Remulla’s second suggestion, the DOTr replied that the LTFRB issued a memorandum that all PUVs coming from the southwest provinces of Metro Manila shall terminate at PITX. Bus operators who oppose the memorandum are using alternate routes to enter Metro Manila. The DOTr added that they will open new routes to address the issue and also allow UV express units to temporarily use the routes for them to have a legalized franchise.

The DOTr also informed the governor and the public that the MMDA And the Philippine Coast Guard have deployed 2 buses and 3 buses respectively to shuttle passengers to and from PITX for free. They have also issued a memorandum issuing 6 buses to implement free bus rides for PITX.

The agency also noted that the LRT Cavite will begin full construction this 2019 and it will be connected directly to PITX. They added that if only the PUVs followed the DOs and memorandums they have issued, the number of PUVs transporting people will be sufficient.

Headed by the Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (i-ACT), the DOTr formed “Task Force PITX” to require public buses to utilize the PITX. They have also directed LTFRB to open new PUV routes to address the lack of PUVs to and from Cavite.

  1. thing is HINDI NAMAN TAGA CAVITE (and they dont commute, mga naka private car ang mga lintik, ano ang alam nila sa salitang commute -_-) ang mga nagpapatupad.. i guess they NEVER ASKED CAVITEÑOS about this PITX.. inisip lang nila… idea lang….

    ano nga ba ang IMPACT ng PITX sa daily commute ng mga taga cavite? as opposed to before..

    1) additional travel time… and i mean ADDITIONAL TRAVEL TIME… traffic n nga sa cavite, dagdag pa ito… imagine…. from INDANG.. 3:30am ako aalis ng bahay, darating ako sa pasay rotonda ng 8:30 (mabilis pa yan)… riding a bus na kaya makaderecho ng pasay rtd…. now imagine kung sa PITX pa ako… baka abutin ako ng 9:30 nyan….

    2) impacted ang mga colorum van… yes… i do take colorum vans (i know its a RISK).. pero sobrang laking ORAS ang matitipid mo when doing so…

    trece to pasay 4:30 – 5:30 via van….. 4:40 – 8:30++ via BUS
    pasay to trece 5:30 – 7++ via van….. 5:30 – 9++ via BUS

    3) dagdag pamasahe

    …. kung sana dinugtong nila ang dulo ng MRT / LRT sa PITX.. ok sana ehh… kaso hindi..
