We reported a few days ago that leaked images of the 2024 Subaru WRX TR had surfaced, and the leaked images were somehow right and wrong. The official car has just been released and some changes to the leaked images were made.
2024 Subaru WRX TR
In the leaked images the TR was supposed to come with a massive rear wing, but as it turns out the brand decided to nix the idea and may reserve the option only for other markets.
However, the WRX TR still does get some nifty updates compared to the normal WRX. The reported high-performance Brembo brake package is included, featuring 6-piston front calipers, and 2-piston rear calipers, along with bigger rotors and pads. The brand also decided to up its grip game by putting on new 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires.
The handling has also been tweaked, giving the WRX TR stiffer springs, a reworked steering rack, and revised dampers. All these have been made in the name of better handling and feel.
Under the hood, it remains the same, still powered by the 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer engine that makes 275 PS and 350 NM of torque. What was included in the TR though is a 6-speed manual transmission, and even better is that it also comes with the Subaru Eyesight safety system.
With its debut done, the TR should hit the global market eventually, and with a steady WRX fanbase in the Philippines hopefully we get some allocations too.
