After weeks of speculation and teasers, the covers have finally come off the all-new next-generation Toyota RAV4.
2026 Toyota RAV4 makes global debut
Given that the Toyota RAV4 is a global product that accounts for massive sales in markets like the U.S, the brand pulled out all the stops to keep the model relevant and up to date for this new generation.
Keeping in tune with the times, the new RAV4 now only comes with a hybrid powertrain, in the form of an electrified 2.5-liter gasoline engine with improved power and efficiency. In front-wheel drive guise, it makes 226 HP while in all-wheel drive it makes 236 HP, which are significant bumps in power compared to the outgoing model. This new model also now comes with a plug-in hybrid variant for better overall usability. It features 2 electric motors and improved battery technology to be able to give a full EV range of 80 km, and a power output of 320 HP.
In terms of design, the RAV4 is a mishmash of the current Toyota brand design with a touch of more ruggedness compared to the outgoing model, we can see the c-shaped long headlights that are now featured on most brand models, as well as more rugged and sharper edges to give it a stronger road presence.

Inside the 2026 Toyota RAV4, modernity is up front and center; it has a 12.5-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a 10.5-inch central infotainment touchscreen (but there is also an optional 12.9-inch infotainment screen). The brand has also updated its proprietary audio multimedia system for faster response. Safety comes in the form of the Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, which has the standard ADAS features just beefed up for better detection and performance on the road.
No word yet as to when the 2026 Toyota RAV4 will make its way to Philippine shores, but we can probably assume it’s sooner rather than later given its popularity locally.
