BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, has unveiled the all-new BYD eMAX 9 DM-i at the 13th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit, introducing a new benchmark in the mid-size MPV segment with its blend of electrified performance, practicality, and premium comfort.

According to Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines, the eMAX 9 DM-i represents “the pinnacle of our electrified vehicle innovation, where technology and luxury move together in perfect harmony.”

Not to be confused with the eMAX 7, he eMAX 9 DM-i features BYD’s Dragon Face design, LED lighting, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Its hands-free side doors and tailgate add convenience, while a built-in refrigerator and Tri-Zone Cooling System highlight the MPV’s family-oriented design.

Inside, the seven-seat cabin comes in two variants:
Premium – ventilated and massage-equipped captain’s chairs, Beige and Brown leather interior, 12-speaker audio, sunroof, and 15.6-inch infotainment system.

Advanced – manually adjustable captain’s chairs, Black leather upholstery, and 8-speaker audio system.
Powering the eMAX 9 DM-i is BYD’s Super DM-i hybrid system, combining a high-power electric motor with a 1.5-liter turbocharged generator. The system produces 271 PS and 315 Nm of torque, achieving 0–100 km/h in 8.5 seconds.

The Premium variant carries a 36.6 kWh battery for up to 170 km of pure-electric range, while the Advanced variant features a 20.4 kWh battery for 95 km. Both offer a combined range of up to 1,000 km (Premium) and 945 km (Advanced).

In an AAP-certified efficiency run, led by Louis Ramirez, the eMAX 9 DM-i Premium covered 1,261.2 km on one full tank and battery charge, surpassing its estimated range.

Charging options include 7 kW AC and 73 kW DC fast charging. The AC charger fully recharges the Advanced variant in about 3 hours and the Premium in 5 hours, while DC fast charging boosts the battery from 30% to 80% in under 20 minutes. The MPV also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing it to power external devices, which is useful for family picnics or camping setups.

The Premium variant includes BYD’s DiSus-C intelligent suspension for improved ride comfort and stability, along with the DiPilot Advanced Driver Assistance System. Features include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection, lane-keep assist, a 360-degree panoramic camera, and rear cross-traffic alert. Both variants come equipped with eight airbags for comprehensive protection.

The BYD eMAX 9 DM-i Advanced is priced at ₱2,678,000, while the Premium variant retails for ₱2,998,000. Color options include Cosmos Black, Deep Sea Blue, and Aurora White.

The model is backed by BYD’s warranty coverage: 8 years or 160,000 km for the Blade Battery and drive unit, and 6 years or 150,000 km for the vehicle.
According to Adam Hu, Country Head of BYD Philippines, the eMAX 9 DM-i “redefines what luxurious electric mobility means for Filipino families.”
The BYD eMAX 9 DM-i will be displayed at the EV Summit Tech Tour Display from October 23–25, at Greenbelt 5 Makati from October 24–26, and at Alabang Town Center from November 7–9.
