It’s not new news that Honda has been busy bringing in hybrid models to further expand their offerings in the Philippines. We have the CR-V and, more recently, the Civic joining the Honda hybrid bandwagon. Today, we were given a new (and a bit surprising) sneak peek at their newest e:HEV on the block, a new RS variant of the HR-V.

Details have been pretty few and far but at least we do have some bits and pieces that might be able to pique your interest. For starters, it seems that Honda decided to retain an already-winning formula. Much of what you see on this hybrid variant is almost exactly the same as the current RS Turbo, with some subtle changes to accent colors both inside and outside.

We also know that it will be powered by a 1.5-liter  4-cylinder Atkinson Cycle DOHC i-VTEC engine that gives out a nice 105 HP and 127 Nm of torque. Along with it comes a pairing with a 131 HP, 253 Nm electric motor. We can only happily assume that you’re going to get a lot of smiles per liter with spry, little crossover.

And now, of course, its price. Honda Cars Philippines will start the presale tomorrow, Januar 21. They were, however very quiet regarding its pricing. Other media outlets have put out unconfirmed prices, though.

What we should mention at this point is that the entire HR-V lineup is getting a nice and welcome refresh, and the aforementioned, unconfirmed prices are from PHP 1USD 0.02INR 1EUR 0.02CNY 0.12.6M – 1.9M. That simply means the range-topping RS e:HEV will be hovering around the PHP 2M price range. Pretty steep, right?

Yes, but what we cannot deny is despite Honda’s pricing strategies, the hybrid CR-V has continued selling in droves since its release. With the Philippines’ love for everything crossovers, it shouldn’t be a surprise if we see a lot of the new HR-Vs dominating the market beginning this year.

Don’t worry; as soon as we have more information about the HR-V lineup for 2025, we’ll make sure to let you know what we know. For now, we hope these photos will suffice.
