Toyota introduces CH-R+ a new generation mass EV product

Toyota has always played the conservative game when it comes to EV products; the past few years of the EV boom have relatively belonged to other brands, with Toyota just being there.

Despite this, the brand still takes the market seriously, and there is no better indicator than the introduction of the new CH-R+.

Interestingly, the brand claims that the CH-R+ is not just a pure EV derivative of the already existing CH-R; this new model, according to them, is completely stand-alone. In any case, the CH-R+ is unmistakably styled like a modern Toyota, it features the brand’s signature front fascia reminiscent of the Crown, Camry, and, erm, the CH-R (non-+).

One of the advantages that the brand was keen to highlight with the CH-R+ is the additional space and size it has compared to the unrelated CH-R hybrid or Gas models. The CH-R+ offers more space and legroom in general, which is probably due to the brand’s smart packaging.

The interior features a fully digital instrument cluster atop the dashboard, while the infotainment screen is a sizeable 14-inch unit. Other notable interior features include dual wireless charging pads, rear climate controls, and a panoramic sunroof.

Powering the CH-R+ will be a choice of front or all-wheel drive driven, the single motor makes 165 hp through a 57.7 kwh battery, and the dual motor makes 221 hp through a 77 kwh battery pack. The range, according to the brand, is around 600 km (WLTP), depending on the trim and variant.
