Hooray, a fuel price rollback is scheduled for this week. Tomorrow, February 27, both gasoline and diesel prices are set to go down with the former going down by PHP 0.70 per liter, and the latter by PHP 0.95. Continuous fluctuations in the price of petroleum products contributed to the unpredictability every week, but at least tomorrow brings good news.
Rollback tomorrow on fuel prices of both gas and diesel after last week’s hike
Last week saw a pretty significant fuel price increase, particularly for gasoline users. Prices per liter went up by as much as PHP 1.60, with diesel increasing by PHP 1.10. This week’s rollback of PHP 0.70Â and PHP 0.95Â for gas and diesel, respectively, don’t exactly make up for last week’s hike, but it’s a rollback all of us should be gladly willing to take.
Cleanfuel customers will be the first to get the lower fuel prices this week, with stations updating at 12:01 AM. Other players will follow suit later in the morning – specifically at 6:00 AM – at which time brands including Petron, Shell, Seaoil, and Unioil, among others, will update their pumps with this week’s lower prices.
There’s no way of telling what the next week will bring as far as fuel prices go, given the volatility of its economics, and we just have to make the best out of every top-up we get from our preferred gas or diesel brand. Plan your travels accordingly, and if it can be helped, keep your gas-guzzlers in the garage as much as you can. Again, if possible.
We’re still a long way off from the more affordable fuel prices that we’ve grown accustomed to in the past years, but as we always say, any rollback is a good rollback.
