LTO launches AksyON THE SPOT, a new and easy (?) way to claim plastic-printed Driver’s License

In a bid to make claims of plastic card-printed Driver’s Licenses, the LTO has launched AksyON THE SPOT, a Viber-based platform that the agency says motorists can use to begin the process of printing and collecting their long-awaited license cards. How exactly does it work? Let’s find out, shall we?

AksyON THE SPOT – send your paper license’s photo via Viber, and LTO will print it

This new program and platform launched by the Land Transportation Office means to enable motorists who have not claimed their plastic-printed driver’s license to use the Viber-registered number for processing and for faster printing. All they have to do is scan or take a photo of their paper-printed driver’s license and send it to this number: 09292920865.

“We will immediately print their driver’s license here in the Central Office and we will also give them the option if they want their plastic-printed driver’s license through our accredited courier service,” said Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II.

“We already downloaded sufficient supply of plastic cards down to the licensing offices across the country. Kaya dapat lahat ay may plastic-printed driver’s license na dahil wala na pong backlog dito,” Mendoza added.

According to the consolidated data of the LTO, only 5% of those affected by the backlog have yet to claim their plastic-printed driver’s license. This prompted Assec Mendoza to appeal to these 5% of motorists to claim their plastic-printed driver’s license. Mendoza likewise emphasized that no motorists should have to use a paper-printed LTO driver’s license any longer since the backlog was already addressed.

Our only hope now is that it actually works. If you are planning to try, or if you’ve already sent a message to the platform, do let us know of your experience. Can this new digitalization platform be a good omen for the Land Transportation Office’s grand plan? We shall see.
