It’s been a long time coming, but as of today, the next generation Toyota Tamaraw has been officially launched and is made available to the Philippine public! The much-anticipated return of Toyota’s legendary workhorse may have taken a wee bit too long, but those who have been waiting now have a lot of reasons to smile and be happy about following its launch.
New and returning Toyota Tamaraw gets a grand, simultaneous public launch nationwide
The Toyota Tamaraw needs no long introduction, but it does deserve a pretty grand re-launch in the Philippines, yes?
With a very brave effort, Toyota held the main launch staged at the Glorietta 4 Activity Center and coinciding with today’s event, set up additional venues where the Tamaraw is displayed for all to see.
These venues are SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, Trinoma in Quezon City, Ayala Malls Solenad in Santa Rosa, Laguna, SM City in San Fernando, Pampanga, SM City Cebu, SM Lanang in Davao City, and at Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro City.
Previously we have written about all the known facts – specs, configurations, as well as payment schemes, and warranty – of the next generation Tamaraw and we’re quite glad to report that nothing has changed from what we have published earlier this year.
This time, though, we have the most important information (finally available) and that is its price. This next generation’s price starts below PHP 1M. More specifically:
2.4 Dropside DSL M/T = PHP 937,000USD 15,910INR 1,354,246EUR 15,320CNY 116,188
2.4 Aluminum Cargo M/T = PHP 1,041,000USD 17,676INR 1,504,557EUR 17,020CNY 129,084
2.4 FX DSL M/T = PHP 1,142,000USD 19,391INR 1,650,533EUR 18,672CNY 141,608
2.4 GL Dropside A/T = PHP 1,075,000USD 18,254INR 1,553,698EUR 17,576CNY 133,300
Now, we must first make it clear that all the prices you see above are for the long wheelbase versions of the next generation Tamaraw. Okay? So where are the prices for the short wheelbase versions?
As of publishing, the next generation Toyota Tamaraw will only be available with a long wheelbase – for now. Those waiting for the short wheelbase will just have to hold out a little bit longer but they can all rest assured that it will be made available very soon.
Wheelbase notwithstanding, the Toyota Tamaraw has made its triumphant return into the PH market, and that in itself is reason enough to celebrate.
Oh, what an exciting time to be a Tamaraw fan, and not just of FEU but of Toyota at that!
