AC Motors, the distributor for Kia in the Philippines, has officially unveiled the revamped 2024 Seltos, following the earlier announcement that a sneak peek would be offered this week. This updated version of the B-segment crossover is poised to make a mark in the fiercely competitive market, especially as it faces off against its sibling, the Hyundai Creta.
The exterior enhancements of the 2024 Seltos are immediately apparent, with a more dynamic and bold look. The headlights have undergone significant redesign, contributing to a sportier appearance. The grille has been restyled for a sleeker look, complemented by new LED daytime running lights (DRLs), vertical LED foglights (exclusive to higher-grade models), and a revised front bumper with a new skid plate.
The rear of the vehicle features a new LED lightbar and sharper LED taillights, accentuating the Seltos’s sporty aesthetics. A skid plate on the rear bumper adds a touch of flair. Additional exterior features include 17-inch alloy wheels, power-folding side mirrors, LED headlights (halogen on lower variants), chrome/body-colored door handles, LED/halogen foglights, and beltline moldings finished in black or satin metal.
The 2024 Seltos measures 4385mm in length, 1800mm in width, and 1620mm in height (1635mm with roof rails). It boasts a substantial 2630mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 190mm.
Inside the cabin, the Seltos receives a modern and stylish upgrade. The base model LX and mid-range EX feature sporty analog gauges and a 4.2-inch multi-info display for the driver. On the other hand, the top-tier SX comes with a wide 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster incorporating the multi-info display. HVAC controls have been redesigned to align with the refreshed look. The vehicle offers cloth seats or full leather upholstery, with the SX featuring a power-adjustable driver’s seat.
The 2024 Seltos comes equipped with various features, including a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging pad, 60:40 split rear seats, smart keyless entry, push-button start, LED ambient lighting, and a tilt/telescoping steering column.
Infotainment options include an 8-inch touchscreen for the LX and EX variants and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen for the SX. Both systems feature Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, USB connectivity, and a 6-speaker sound system.
Powering the Seltos are two engine options. The 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated Smartstream engine, generating 113 hp at 6300 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm, is paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 138 hp at 6000 rpm and 242 Nm of torque between 1500 to 3200 rpm, is coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with selectable drive modes.
Safety features across all variants include front airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera. The top-of-the-line SX additionally includes two front side airbags and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control with stop & go, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, and forward collision avoidance assist.
