PIMS 2024 – Suzuki doubles the fun with eVX Concept and Jimny Rhino Edition
Suzuki came out, guns blazing, at this year’s PIMS with not one but two headliners: the eVX Concept and the Jimny Rhino Edition for both the 3- and 5-door versions. To show off both the brand’s commitment to eco-friendly mobility solutions and innovation, showgoers and the buying public are in for a treat, indeed. Here’s what’s been shown off for us to see and know.

“A glimpse at the future of electrification”
Missing in the SUV segment is what Suzuki has been for longer than we can count or remember. That’s something the brand aims to change, though. With their interpretation of an “Emotional Versatile Cruiser”, the eVX has come to be. Measuring 4,300 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,600mm tall, the Concept features an upright stance, a horizontal hood, high interior seating, a long wheelbase, high ground clearance, and signature LED light elements that “are unmistakable design elements derived from Suzuki’s SUV heritage”.
Despite its aforementioned dimensions, it’s declared to be able to deliver aerodynamic efficiency by lowering the drag coefficient. What’s more is that it is declared to be able to cover a range of up to 550 kilometers.
“The eVX aims to carry forward Suzuki’s 4×4 legacy into the new electric era, delivering the true Suzuki SUV driving experience,’ said Mr. Norihide Takei, Director and General Manager of Suzuki Philippines’ Automobile Division. It is scheduled to be introduced to the market by 2025.
A leveling up of off-road presence
If the existing kits of the Jimny aren’t enough, Suzuki has just shown another to add to its fan base’s plethora of choices. Enter the Rhino Edition for both the 3- and 5-door versions of the Jimny! But what’s in it?
Those who are interested in the Rhino can expect a new and distinctive front grill, a new lower garnish for the front bumper and the sides, new mud flaps, and a set of Rhino decals that let everyone know what it is that you’re driving around in whether you’re on the road or on the trails. No mechanical changes made their way into this new special variant, though, and we can expect Suzuki’s familiar 1.5-liter gasoline engine that puts out 120 HP and 130 Nm of torque. Transmission options remain as either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
More than just a showing off of the eXV and the Jimny Rhino Edition(s), Suzuki’s display at PIMS 2024 are a celebration of the brand’s “forward-thinking approach to technology and environmental responsibility, leaving audiences excited for the future of Suzuki and its role in shaping mobility”.
“Whether through hybrid vehicles, autonomous driving, or even flying cars, Suzuki is committed to building a future that is exciting, innovative, and sustainable for everyone,” Takei-San concluded.
