Peugeot has been one of the brands in the automotive industry that’s really been pushing its transition into EVs. Locally, during the last Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) the brand previewed the E-2008, which according to the brand could make its way to our shores soon.
Right now though, from a global perspective, the brand has surged forward with EVs and has just unveiled the new E-3008.
Peugeot E-3008
Peugeot’s recent models have been quite the lookers and this new E-3008 is no exception. This new version now features more truly stylish, sculpted, and curved lines making the vehicle look just as arresting and out of this world as the previous one.
The E-3008 for the first time features an all-electric powertrain courtesy of the mother company Stellantis through the mid-sized electric platform. It features a 400V battery pack that will come in 3 EV variants along with some hybrid models as well.
There were 2 E-3008 variants during the launch, one was equipped with a 210 hp standard range EV engine, and a 230 hp long range EV engine. In standard range trim it can reach a total of 525 km of range, while the long range system can reach a claimed 700 km. However, if you want more capability out of your E-3008 you can opt for the E-3008 AWD Dual Motor with a combined output of 320 hp but with the sacrifice of 50 liters of cargo capacity.
Inside the E-3008 is a newer rendition of the brand’s i-cockpit system, which now places the steering wheel in front of the massive 21-inch screen that houses both the instrument cluster and infotainment system. Based on the photos alone the interior looks just as stylish as ever and exudes a truly French style of luxury.
All EV versions get a 160W fast charging capability with 20-80 percent recharges in about 30 minutes.
With the Philippines rapidly adapting EVs, and with Peugeot PH finding its step again maybe a local launch of the Peugeot E-3008 isn’t out of the question.
