Ford Territory sales continues growth in PH, reaches 10,000 unit milestone

If you think you’ve been seeing far too many units of the Ford Territory plying the streets, here’s why. Ford Philippines has announced that since its launch, the Territory has sold more than 10,000 units; 10,758, to be exact. This milestone comes after celebrating the sale of its 8,000th unit just this past November 2021. In the past month alone (March 2022), Ford has sold its best-ever retail number of Territory units with 904 units, a 51% increase in sales from a year ago.

“We are off to a great start this year as we see the growing popularity of our Ford vehicle lineup among our customers, particularly the Ford Territory which continues to be one of the best-selling SUVs in the market today,” says Mike Breen, managing director, Ford Philippines. “With the easing of travel restrictions and increased demand for safe mobility, we are optimistic that we will maintain the momentum in the next quarter together with our Ford dealers nationwide.”

As it stands, the Ford Territory remains the leader in the small SUV (more crossover, actually) segment. It has averaged a quarterly market share of 54% and as of last March, it has taken a 63% share of the market. This is quickly becoming a high-sales battle with its main competitor, the Geely Coolray, which has also enjoyed a big share of sales in the Philippines. Ford PH doesn’t really seem to be worried, though.

“Our 10,000th Ford Territory sales milestone is truly an outstanding feat and would not be possible without the immense support from all Ford Territory owners. We are very excited for what’s to come for the Ford Territory in the country, and we look forward to seeing more Filipino customers own the moment with the Ford Territory,” Breen later added.

In a competitive landscape where function balanced with cost has become the top criterion for new vehicle owners, Ford has its work cut out for it. Yes, the Ranger pickups have been driving sales as well, but with crossovers of all sizes coming out of the woodwork, they’ll have to stay on their toes out there.
