The Civil Aeronautics Board has just confirmed that beginning November 1, students can avail of a 20% discount upon booking domestic airline flights.
Last April, President Duterte signed the RA 11314, or the Student Fare Discount Act that granted students a 20% fare discount when traveling via PUVs in the country. According to a report by Inquirer, the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) has released the guidelines on availing the 20% discount. Students must be enrolled in any elementary, secondary, tertiary, vocation, or higher educational institutions. Students must then present a school ID, validated enrollment form, and at least one of the following documents:
- Birth certificate
- Baptismal certificate
- Latest school record
- Naturalization certificate
- Passport
The 20% discount would then be taken off from the regular base fare of domestic flights. The discount does not apply to those enrolled in postgraduate courses nor short-term courses, such as dancing, swimming, driving lessons, and seminar-type courses.
this stupid law will only increase cost of flying for other people. stop pandering to these lazy students.
