The City of Manila has just issued a traffic advisory that trucks will not be allowed along the length of P. Burgos. A safety inspection is scheduled to be done along the length of Padre Burgos, and as such, trucks will have to take an alternate route to get to their destination. Information on the rerouting is as follows.
Traffic Advisory for truck rerouting away from P. Burgos in Manila
Starting today, trucks coming from Roxas Boulevard that normally use P. Burgos to get to Quezon Boulevard and Quiapo will be rerouted. From Roxas Blvd. and after turning into P. Burgos:
- Turn right to Finance Road
- Cross over to Ayala Blvd.
- Go straight to Ayala Bridge
- Turn left to Carlos Palanca to your point of destination
That said, motorists should expect a build-up of traffic at the junction of P. Burgos and Finance Road. No date was indicated as to when heavy trucks will be allowed to traverse the entire length of the road again. Until such time, only light vehicles and motorcycles will be allowed to use P. Burgos.
Again, this traffic advisory is in line with the scheduled safety inspection along P. Burgos, so it really is unavoidable. If you can plan your routes carefully to steer clear of a potential traffic jam along this road and around its general area, please do so.
And please do extend your patience as this happens. Traffic is bound to pile up, for sure.
