Ford has unveiled the all-new 2025 Expedition lineup, featuring a redesigned full-size SUV built to meet the needs of active families. Focusing on versatility, advanced technology, and improved capability, the Expedition aims to accommodate up to eight passengers while enhancing the overall family experience.

The new Expedition lineup, available in standard and extended-wheelbase versions (Expedition MAX), emphasizes comfort, space, and connectivity. Key features include a largest-in-class 24-inch panoramic display and a third-row bench seat with 40/20/40 folding capability.

Ford’s Split Gate system is a standout feature, combining a traditional SUV liftgate with a tailgate similar to a pickup truck. It allows the upper three-quarters of the gate to lift, while the lower quarter folds down, capable of supporting up to 500 pounds. Additional features like exterior zone lighting and an available Flex Powered Console make cargo management and convenience central to the new design.

Two EcoBoost engine options power the new Expedition. The standard 3.5-liter V6 produces 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque, while a high-output version delivers 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, available in the TREMOR and Platinum models. The Expedition offers a maximum capacity of 9,600 pounds with a weight-distributing hitch for towing.

The Expedition’s interior is equipped with the new Ford Digital Experience, which offers driver profiles, voice control via Google Assistant or Alexa, and a Wi-Fi hotspot that can connect up to 10 devices. Additionally, Ford’s BlueCruise, a hands-free highway driving system, is now available on 90% of Expedition models and features enhancements like Lane Change Assist and In-Lane Repositioning.

For adventure seekers, the new Expedition TREMOR model brings increased off-road capability with 33-inch all-terrain tires, a re-tuned suspension, and underbody protection. Equipped with the 440-horsepower EcoBoost engine, the TREMOR is designed for rugged adventures, featuring Rock Crawl Mode and Trail Turn Assist.

Of course, should Ford Philippines decide to bring back the Expedition, we can expect one or two available variants, with standard and extended wheelbase options. Priced correctly, Ford Philippines could bring the fight back to the Toyota Land Cruiser and the yet-to-be-released all-new Nissan Patrol.
