New 2025 Geely Coolray and Emgrand launched, start at PHP 1.139M and PHP 949K, respectively
The new Geely Coolray and Emgrand were both launched today with the brand still fresh under its new local management. We can remember that Geely had its fair share of woes in the Philippines and had even seemed to “fall silent”, but all that ended as its two high-sellers in the crossover and sedan segments were just (re)introduced to the market. What’s Geely been up to with their two updated models? Let’s find out.
2025 Geely Coolray
Now using the BMA Global New Generation Modular Architecture, the Coolray’s 500+ architecture engineers and their 4 years’ worth of R&D have brought us what you see in these photos. Though it looks very similar to the outgoing “generation”, Geely proudly brings a fresh new design to its B-segment crossover.
The two-tone color motif has been retained on the new iteration of the Coolray. It also features new design Energy Matrix LED headlight assemblies and a redesigned “upper” grill. Further showing off the new model’s looks is a massive “air inlet grill” that takes most of the front fascia of the Coolray. The rear of the Coolray features a familiar but redesigned spoiler, full-width taillights brought together by a lightbar, as well as the dual exhaust pipes found on each corner at the bottom of the bumper. Of course, the high-end variants come with the Tomahawk-style 18″ alloy wheels that complete the classy and sporty look of the Coolray’s exterior.
The interior looks familiar as well with its red-black combination for the dash, trim pieces, and upholstery. What the Coolray has this time, though, are redesigned seat bolsters that the brand says are more ergonomic and comfortable, both of which will make for a more enjoyable ride.
Other interior bits that you will find in this Coolray are a 10.25″ digital gauge cluster and a bigger 12.3″ infotainment touchscreen. Along with the glass real estate come some creature comforts like a wireless charging pad, automatic climate controls, rear aircon vents, a powered tailgate, and even Automatic Parking Assist which, you guessed it, can park your Coolray automatically.
Safety features include side and rear blind spot monitoring, an adaptive parking brake, 12 parking sensors, a 4-way DVR recorder, and what Geely calls a 540-degree all-around display. This display uses the traditional 360-degree vision that many of us are familiar with, but with the addition of a view of the underside of the Coolray! Quite cool, actually!
Powering the Coolray is the new generation 1.5TD NordThor Power engine which is mated to a 7-DCT. This motor puts out an impressive 172HP and 290 Nm of pull. It can go from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and boasts a mixed fuel consumption of up to 17.25 km/L.
For a PHP 10,000USD 170INR 14,748EUR 164CNY 1,241 reservation fee, Geely is giving PHP 90,000USD 1,534INR 132,732EUR 1,473CNY 11,169 less for the Coolray which will have four variants available. They are as follows:

2025 Geely Emgrand
Alongside, the Geely Emgrand was also introduced back into the fray.
Its exterior features Geely’s concept of “Aesthetics of Light and Shadow”. Front and center is the Energy String front grill which is flanked by LED headlight units. The sedan’s width goes up to 1.822m and is now lower than its previous iteration by 72mm. These dimensions are further highlighted by its 17″ dual five-spoke alloy wheels, its 0.618 “Golden Section Waistline”, and its Through-Type (read: full-width) Rhythmic Taillight.
As for the interior, the same Through-Type design is carried over, as is the “golden 0.618 ratio” which is best exhibited by the air vent to floor height. Also new to this generation is the fact that Geely put in soft touch points to as much as 85% of the materials in the cabin. It also comes with a 12.3″ digital gauge cluster, a 12.3″ infotainment touchscreen, a unique steering wheel that makes use of Constant Temperature Leather, and what Geely calls Light Luxury Zero Pressure seats.
Tech and convenience features include keyless entry, one-touch start, an auto-open trunk, one-touch window up/down switches, cruise control, and rear aircon vents. Safety features, on the other hand, come by way of the vehicle design’s reducing the coverage of blind spots and increasing overall visibility, as well as an impressive and best-in-class 100-0 km/h 37.5m braking distance.
Under the hood resides an upgraded, all-new 1.5-liter engine with the choice of either an automatic or manual transmission. The motor makes about 121HP and 152Nm of torque.
The Geely Emgrand Luxury is priced at PHP 949,000USD 16,171INR 1,399,585EUR 15,535CNY 117,771 and a PHP 40,000USD 682INR 58,992EUR 655CNY 4,964 discount is being offered as well.
With these two new models, Geely has its eyes set on regaining its foothold in the PH market. We won’t even speak of what battles the brand has been fighting over the past year or so because what matters is they’re back and they’re hitting the ground running. Given that the first EV of Geely, the EX5, was also just revealed, are the Coolray and Emgrand on their way to selling in droves in their respective segments and will Geely become as strong a force as it was in the past again?
