Around the middle of last month, news broke that the S-Presso AGS will, indeed, be launched by Suzuki. At that time, there just wasn’t a specific time for when it will debut, and when it will be made available. Today the covers were taken off and it is now available in all 72 dealerships nationwide.

This model sits on the updated version that comes with the 1.0-liter K10C engine that makes about 66 HP and 89 Nm of torque. This time, it’s available mated to an Automatic Gear Shift (AGS) transmission with the manual option still available to be purchased. The AGS refers to the state-of-the-art system developed by Suzuki to enable a manual transmission to do automated gear changes or shifting without the driver needing to step on the clutch pedal and use the shift lever.

An added feature of the engine is the Engine Auto Stop Start System (EASS) which automatically stops the engine when the vehicle is idle. That translates to improved gas consumption in what’s already a pretty frugal fuel sipper.

Inside you’ll also find a new generation infotainment display that is equipped with a Smartphone linkage and information display. Other tech features include an overhead microphone that is closer to the passenger for better voice reception during a hands-free conversation, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls with hands-free Bluetooth control.

As for safety, the S-Presso AGS comes equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) that allows the passenger to control the car while making a corner and ensures traction while accelerating or traversing wet pavements or slippery roads. Another noteworthy feature is the addition of Hill-Hold Control which keeps the vehicle from rolling backward on steep slopes.

There are four colors to choose from when purchasing the Suzuki S-Presso AGS, which are Sizzle Orange, Metallic Granite Gray, Fire Red, and White. Its price is set at PHP 660,000 for the AGS, and PHP 620,000 for the manual transmission variant.

It’s about time, Suzuki PH! It’s about time!
