Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) is one of the brands pushing for an EV future locally. At the moment they offer the IONIQ 5 EV with plans to offer more IONIQ models in the future. With that, it seems they’re also ensuring that new dealerships have the proper infrastructure for EVs.
Hyundai Makati EV capable dealership
The brand has just opened its newest dealership in the heart of Metro Manila, and it isn’t just any plain old dealership the Makati branch has something special.
Situated in the automotive strip of Chino Roces Avenue Extension, which is a few meters away from EDSA and within the said city’s Central Business District, it has a showroom spanning 280sqm which can accommodate up to five (5) vehicle displays, and a service area of 1,167 sqm with six (6) work bays and two (2) work bay dedicated for electric vehicles. Not only is this the Gateway Group’s first dealership with the brand but is also the country’s first authorized retailer and service provider of Electric Vehicles (EVs) as well as Asia Pacific’s first outlet to carry the new Hyundai Global Dealership Space Identity (GDSI) 2.0.

Committed to playing a pivotal role in answering the call for sustainability, Hyundai Motor intends to provide options and help ease the transition of society to an electrified lifestyle. This starts with the brand’s dedicated line of EVs, bannered by its flagship model, the IONIQ 5. This Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) has won numerous international awards including the prestigious World Car of The Year (WCOTY). It is made available to Filipinos in two variants, the Long Range 2WD, which retails for Php 3,698,000, and the Standard Range 2WD, which comes at Php 3,068,000.
Moreover, the necessary after-sales support, from facility readiness all the way to the training of certified technicians, also forms part of this undertaking. Hyundai Makati is officially the first of five authorized EV dealers in the country. It is equipped with a 22KW AC Charger and a 50KW DC Charger, the latter enables battery capacity to reach 80% from 20% in as fast as 30 minutes. The rest this 2023 are Alabang, Cebu North, Pampanga, Pasig. All shall be prepared for “recovery and repair”. Each carries specialized Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) service tools and equipment and standard safety aids.
