The Hyundai Sonata enjoyed a brief life in the Philippines, in fact, at one point it was a very sought-after and quite popular alternative to the established Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
Despite its success, it hadn’t been able to keep up with the times and eventually a few years ago it disappeared from our market altogether. While it continued to be sold globally, it seemed there wasn’t enough reason to bring it back here, until now.
2024 Hyundai Sonata
The newly updated and refreshed Sonata has been revealed and it now looks sportier than ever as well as comes with a whole host of new modern updates and features.
First things first, the looks are now in line with the rest of the Hyundai family, the Sonata incorporates the Sensuous Sportiness design. It retains a sleek 4-door coupe look with a long hood and a fastback roofline, it also has the brand’s signature seamless LED horizon front lamps that are present in most of the carmaker’s vehicles.
The rear features the futuristic and modern-looking H pattern for the LED taillight design, to further highlight its performance tendencies the Sonata has a swooping spoiler-designed trunk lid accompanied by dual-tip mufflers and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the Sonata takes a more driver-centric approach with the cockpit being ever so biased towards the driver for a better and safer driving experience. Two 12.3-inch digital displays dominate the interior, one is the digital instrument cluster and the other is for the infotainment system.
The last but interesting feature of the Sonata is the column-type shifter, which is akin to modern Mercedes-Benz cars. The move was done in order to create more space in the center console area.
More details will be revealed once the car takes the floor during the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show.
