The official launch of the 2025 Honda HR-V is upon us, and with it, more details about (some of) its specs and – more importantly – its pricing, have just been revealed. The launch itself may not be until March 9, 2025, but as early as now, we’re going to go ahead and let you know what we know about the newest iteration of Honda’s rather well-selling subcompact crossover.
Quick look at 2025 Honda HR-V specs, prices, and the surprise under its hood

Barely a month and a half since it was first previewed, the 2025 Honda HR-V is getting ready for its grand public reveal a week from now. The sneak peek that we had brought no other information other than the fact that it will now have a range-topping RS e:HEV variant. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it will now join Honda’s hybrid and electrified vehicle stable!
What was not known then was the fact that the HR-V will now no longer have a turbo engine! Surprise! Of its three variants, the HR-V S and V will have a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine mated to a CVT under its hood. This motor puts out 121 HP and 145 Nm of pull. The top-of-the-line RS, though, will be powered by a 1.5 e:HEV engine that makes about 106 HP and 127 Nm torque working alongside electric motors that churn out 131 HP and 253 Nm torque. Impressive, if you ask us.
Other information apart from that of its powertrains reveals that the exterior and interior of the 2025 HR-V will come with updates and additions.
Of course, the highlight is that of the RS e:HEV, and it will come with a redesigned front bumper and grill. On the lower grill, the red “Amp-Up Line” is the telltale sign that one has the hybrid variant. We thought maybe blue (or even green) would make it keep up with the environment-friendliness, but it will have to do. There is also the addition of a powered tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, and even tilting side mirrors when backing up to park in reverse. Nifty. A set of 18″ black and silver alloy wheels are now available on the V variant as well.
As for the interior, it does get useful knick-knacks, too. Lane Watch now comes standard on the V and RS variants, giving enhanced passenger-side visibility, and reducing blind spots for safer lane changes. The RS comes with dual-zone air conditioning, while it and the V variant also come with a wireless charging pad as another addition to tech.
Across all variants of the HR-V, buyers can expect a mildly updated cabin and dashboard design, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and with Honda’s famed ULT seats that will allow for maximum storage and flexibility for whatever cargo you might need to carry.
Honda SENSING will also come standard in all variants of the HR-V. Along with improved cameras, the safety features include Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Road Departure Mitigation System, Auto High-Beam (AHB), and Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN).
20GEN Honda CONNECT, the brand’s proprietary connectivity suite, enables owners and users to access to customization and monitoring features for their HR-V, along with access to the following:
- Climate Control
- Lights on/off
- Remote lock/unlock
- Automatic Collision Detection
- Visual Dashboard
- Location Finder
- Trip Log & History
- Geofencing Alert
- Push Notifications
- Speed Alert
- Car Status
- Emergency Call
And now, the most important bits of information.

There we have it, folks. In as much as we were very impressed with the older generation of the Honda HR-V, we think it’s safe to surmise that this new one will also impress. If we can put the pricing aside – as we’re sure it is what many are concerned about – it may actually be worth every centavo given its new features and added creature comforts. But we’ll save the verdict for when we get to review it. Until such time, here’s our Review and what we thought of the outgoing HR-V S. Enjoy!
