The GMR-001 Hypercar is the centerpiece of Genesis’ motorsport program. Developed in partnership with ORECA Motorsport, the car features a hybrid powertrain and performance-focused chassis, though final specifications remain undisclosed. Designed under the leadership of Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke at Genesis Design Europe, the hypercar showcases the brand’s “Athletic Elegance” design philosophy, blending aerodynamic efficiency with visual identity.

Key design elements include Genesis’ signature Two-Line lighting front and rear, a Parabolic Line side profile, and a flat underbody plate for improved airflow. Integrated inlets manage thermal performance, while sculpted bodywork supports visual and functional goals.

The livery incorporates Genesis’ signature Magma orange, representing Korea’s energy and culture. The Korean word for “Magma” (마그마) is embedded in the design, using its consonants as graphic motifs. A gradient from orange to red runs along the car, representing rising intensity and motion. The Hangul script appears prominently on the rear, reinforcing national identity.

If you are after power figures, GMR has not unveiled any power figures as of the time of writing, but we can expect some big power. It is a competition race car after all.

The team’s race suits mirror the car’s design with Two-Line accents and G-Matrix graphics, unifying the team’s visual identity. The suits will be worn by veteran drivers André Lotterer, a three-time Le Mans winner, and Pipo Derani, a four-time 12 Hours of Sebring champion, who will lead the team into its WEC debut.

Genesis’ move into endurance racing underscores its intent to expand its performance credentials and global presence through motorsport.
